Account deletion

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Delete your VAULT account

You can request permanent deletion of your VAULT account and associated catalog data at any time. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

VAULT is operated by Remy Cooper Music. For account and data deletion requests, contact vault@toolkit.music from the email address connected to your VAULT account.

How to request deletion

  1. Email vault@toolkit.music with the subject “VAULT account deletion request”.
  2. Send the request from the email address connected to your VAULT account.
  3. Include the name or username on the account so we can verify the correct record.

If you can still sign in, you can also open VAULT on the web, go to Account, then Privacy, and use the account deletion flow there.

Data deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete or anonymize the account and associated VAULT data from active systems, including:

  • Account profile data, including name, username, email, avatar, and preferences
  • Songs, tracks, audio files, artwork, lyrics, metadata, tags, and attachments
  • Playlists, smart playlists, briefs, inboxes, submissions, contacts, and actions
  • Comments, public links, collaboration records, and active sessions

Content that was shared with another VAULT user may disappear from their workspace when deletion removes your ownership or access rights.

Data retained for limited reasons

Some records may be retained when required by law or needed for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or accounting. This can include payment records and invoices held by your payment provider, abuse or fraud records, and limited system logs. Terms and Privacy acceptance timestamps stored on your VAULT account are removed with it; copies may remain in database backups.

Deletion from active systems begins after verification. Encrypted database backups can retain deleted account data for several years: our backup schedule includes daily copies and longer-lived monthly and yearly archives, including five annual snapshots. Account deletion does not immediately erase those backups. Cached content and service-provider logs follow separate retention schedules, so we do not promise a single purge deadline for all copies. Payment providers retain records as required for tax and accounting. If you are the sole owner of a Team workspace, transfer ownership before requesting deletion.

Data-only deletion requests

You can also request deletion of specific data without deleting your full account. Email vault@toolkit.music and describe the data you want deleted.
